Amid violence, Ethiopia declares state of emergency in Amhara

The defence ministry says deadly armed violence witnessed in parts of the Oromia special zones.

Ethiopia’s chief ombudsman, Endale Haile, told AFP news agency earlier this month that the violence in Amhara had killed more than 300 people over several days in March.
